The water-repellent Aoraki vest integrates innovative dope-dyeing technology for a zero-water dyeing process. Instead of having an additional step (dyeing the yarn after it has been spun), dope-dyeing adds the solid color dye pellets to the 100% recycled polyester pellets, melts them so that they mix, and then forms the mixture into a yarn as it cools and turns into a solid.
